After casting the patient with POP, we prefer to first manufacture a Diagnostic transparent socket to ensure a perfect fit. This socket will enable the prosthetist and patient to optimize the fit and comfort level.
The preferred method off suspension today must be the wide range of silicone suspension liner available on the market . These liner roll unto the stump to act as an interface between the stump and the hard prosthetic socket. They provide secure suspension by either vacuum or mechanical locks.
